Welcome to the Rural Areas

Located on the outskirts of the Comox Valley Municipalities are the Rural areas which include the Comox Peninsula, Courtenay North & Courtenay West. These areas make up the Comox Valley Regional District.

The Comox Peninsula is a scenic region showcasing a stunning coastline. Stretching along the eastern side, it offers picturesque beaches, rocky shorelines, and panoramic views of the Strait of Georgia. These coastal areas are popular for beachcombing, birdwatching, and exploring tidal pools. Some of the notable beaches include Point Holmes, and Kye Bay.

The Comox Peninsula is also home to several regional parks and protected areas, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Seal Bay Nature Park is a vast area of forested trails that are ideal for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. Visitors can discover old-growth trees, diverse wildlife, and picturesque waterfalls within the park. Nearby, the Little River Nature Park offers scenic walking trails along the river and through wetlands.

Courtenay North and Courtenay West offer farmland and ALR opportunities – many of our beloved local farms are located in these areas.

WHAT WE LOVE:

  • Rural Feel Yet Close to Amenities
  • Farm stands – eggs, fruit, vegetables & more!
